Family-owned Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Homes merged with the Sylvia Funeral Home that was located in Vineyard Haven on the island of Martha's Vineyard in 1983. Five years later, a more centrally located, spacious facility was built in the Town of Oak Bluffs on the Vineyard.
