About Rock Ridge Cemetery
Rock Ridge Cemetery, located in Sharon, Massachusetts, is a historic private cemetery, not-for-profit, non-sectarian, and managed by a board of five Trustees who provide maintenance and oversee operation of the cemetery.

The cemetery was incorporated in 1862, but served as an active burial ground for over one hundred years prior. Figures in American history such as Job Swift, who served in the Provincial Congress from 1774-1775, and Deborah Sampson Gannett, who as a young woman disguised herself as a male and served in the Revolutionary War, are interred at Rock Ridge Cemetery. Many of the Town’s founding families are here as well. Distinguished names such as Morse, Gannett, Capen, Drake, Mann, Billings, and Richards can be found, along with their subsequent generations.
Rock Ridge Cemetery fronts both East and Mountain Streets with stately maple trees planted throughout the rolling landscape. The trees provide shade in the spring and summer with spectacular foliage in the fall, truly a peaceful place to be laid to rest. Conspicuously located on the high point of the property is a Civil War monument of a life-size soldier and an American Legion Lot honoring veterans prominently located by the roadside.
