Richardson-Davis Funeral Home was founded in 1853 by Philip Herbold Sr., Galion’s first undertaker, in a log cabin on what is now Harding Way East. Herbold operated the funeral parlor in conjunction with his furniture store, The Herbold Company, a common practice in those days.
