Hixson is an unincorporated community and a neighborhood in the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. It is a northern suburb of Chattanooga; and is part of the Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.Hixson is surrounded by communities from several different cities and suburbs. It is not a rigidly defined location. However, the area is typically defined as: North of the Rivermont area (a Chattanooga neighborhood); east of the City of Red Bank and U.S. Highway 27; south of the unincorporated area of Middle Valley and Thrasher Pike; and borders the river on the east.
