Custer is a census-designated place (CDP) in Whatcom County, Washington County, Washington, United States. Custer. The population was 299 at the 2000 United States Census census.

Custer was named after its first postmaster, Albert W. Originally the town was located at the intersection of the current Valley View and Bay Roads. Country singer Loretta Lynn was a resident of Custer in the 1950s when she was a young wife and mother.
