Douglas (Lakota: Pȟežíȟota Otȟúŋwahe; "White Sagebrush City") is a city in Converse County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 6,120 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Converse County and the home of the Wyoming State Fair.Its former railroad passenger depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

History

Charles Starkweather, a serial killer who killed 11 people in Nebraska and Wyoming in 1957-1958, was captured in Douglas after an extensive manhunt on January 31, 1958. Douglas is a city in Converse County, Wyoming County, Wyoming, United States. It served as a supply point, Warehouse and retail, for the surrounding cattle ranches, as well as servicing railway crews, cowboys and the troops of the United States Army Army stationed at Fort Fetterman. The population was 5,288 at the United States Census, 2000 census.
