There is no road system connecting the town to other communities, so all travel to Seldovia is by airplane or boat.The Alaska Native people of Seldovia make up approximately 1/4 of the population and have ancestors of Aleut and Alutiiq (Sugpiaq) descent, as well as some Dena'ina.
