Frenchburg is a 6th-class city in Menifee County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 486 at the 2010 census. It is the seat and only incorporated city in its rural county. It is located at the junction of U.S. Route 460 and Kentucky Route 36. Logging is the primary industry.Frenchburg is part of the Mount Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area.

History

. The population was 551 at the 2000 United States Census census. It is the county seat of Menifee County, Kentucky County , and the only incorporated city in the rural county. Frenchburg is a city in Menifee County, Kentucky County, Kentucky, United States. Frenchburg was nearly destroyed on June 27 1882 when Beaver Creek flooded, sweeping away all but three buildings and killing six people.
