Stennes Funeral Home got its beginning in 1951 when Lars Stennes purchased the White Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Drayton, North Dakota. Ken Stennes, a brother of Lars, joined him in Drayton and purchased the Furniture Store in 1962. Lars was in the process of expanding to East Grand Forks, Stephen, and purchasing the funeral home in Hallock, Minnesota. The two families worked together as Lars moved his family to Hallock and then on to East Grand Forks.
