Depoe Bay is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon County, Oregon, United States, located on US Route 101 in Oregon Route 101 next to the Pacific Ocean. In 1975, the fishing trip sequence in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (film) Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' was filmed in Depoe Bay. . His original tribal affiliation was Tututni. The population was 1,174 at the 2000 United States Census census, with an unofficial estimated population of 1,355 in 2007.[http://www.pdx.edu/media/p/r/prcCertifiedRelease_07_web_cities.pdf PSU:Population Research Center] The bay of the same name is a six-acre (24,000 m²) harbor that the city promotes as the world's smallest.

Depoe Bay was founded by Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indian "Charley" Depot (whose name was later changed to "DePoe").
