History

The final surviving member of the infamous Hole in the Wall Gang, Harry Tracy, was shot at a Creston ranch and killed himself there. It was named so because of its high altitude, due to the fact that it is the highest town in Washington State between Wenatchee and Spokane, Washington, as the railroad goes. The population was 232 at the United States Census, 2000 census.
