Fairmount Mortuary, DO NOT take your loved ones here. I signed the form one each for embalming and one for cremation as I was leaving the state, as it turned out I wasn't able to move my mother to another state and the mortuary was aware this may be a concern, so they embalmed her anyway stating I requested it and authorized it, then they cremated her, and even though I checked the box to be notified when the cremation was scheduled, they did not call. As a matter of fact, after they received my credit card information they no longer spoke with me. I dealt with this facility for four weeks, they were long and miserable and even two weeks after they cremated my mother they had not shipped her to our new funeral home and the death certificates that they had when we left didn't arrive until after that. They made a horrible time in my life, even worse.

Fairmount Funeral Home is the WORST! Terrible Horrible place, if you loved the person who has passed DONT take them to this funeral home. My brother and my sister chose this place out of a phone book, sight unseen. The funeral director [name redacted by iMortuary editor], was anything but the professional he should have been. He became involved in negotiating for probate items. Rather than complete his duty as a funeral director. After negotiations broke down and my siblings backed out of the process, I agreed I would take over, thinking we would move forward in the process, only to learn that he had scheduled a meeting for myself with my siblings, to negotiate for items, that were of no concern at this time. The only thing that was important was my mother and laying her to rest in peace. Unfortunately [name redacted] felt the need to interject himself into negotiating the process. Later I was informed that my brother and sister would not agree to move forward or to pay the expenses. I was informed by the funeral home that majority rules in Colorado, so I was odd man out, however neither sibling agreed to sign a contract. The funeral home froze the process and informed me that they would charge 75$ a day to refrigerate my mother until an agreement could be made. To try to move the process along I compromised, knowing that my mother did not really want to be cremated. Then my sister backed out and my brother said he would only pay half, and later he backed out, saying he would not pay any fees. I was finally informed that I could move my mother, however they had already informed the new funeral home in the another state that my siblings needed to sign off. After two weeks into this process, my mother is still waiting. I finally agree to cremation and paying the fees. This funeral home treated me terrible from beginning to end. To make matters worse, I signed the form indicating I wanted to be notified when the cremation was scheduled. Unfortunately, after receiving my credit card information I never heard from [names redacted], the other funeral director. Even though they informed me that I couldn't put my mother in another state without my siblings signing off they embalmed her and charged me the fee, the they cremated my mother and indicated thinking I would be taking her to another state, even though they knew I had an appointment to speak with the new funeral home prior to any decision being made. After two more weeks I just received the death certificate and items remaining from my mother. This is a terrible facility and they should be shut down. They are not professional their concern was not my mother at any time in the process. They didn't feel the need to notify me when they shipped her ashes to my state, they made arrangements through our funeral home. I would never want anyone to take their loved one to this facility. It is a terrible, horrible place. It is old and dirty and dingy and they treated my mother and me with no dignity or respect. Though they claimed my mother was their utmost priority.
