Holy Cross Cemetery was established as a non-profit Cemetery Association for the Catholic Diocese of Spokane by Bishop Charles D. White in February of 1931. The first interments were made in September of that year. Prior to 1931, another local cemetery was the official Catholic burial ground by way of an agreement made with Father Cataldo in 1888.
The staff of our Catholic Cemeteries offers an ecclesial ministry to those whom we serve. Office staff, field personnel, family service representatives and board members all participate in this ministry by providing assistance to families as they cope with the hard reality of death. We can be of assistance not only at the hour of death, but also, through our counseling staff, in advance of need, thereby easing the stress experienced at the time of a death.
