I n 1959, the Morrison family established a funeral home in the Shoals area. Joe Morrison Sr. was the founding owner of the funeral home. His interest in the funeral business began through his sister Sybil Morrison Jones, who in 1938 was the first female in the state of Alabama to receive her funeral directing and embalming license. Sybil and her husband Bowie owned and operated Jones Funeral Home in Anniston, Alabama.
