History

Bowling Green is the home of Bowling Green State University and hosts the Black Swamp Arts Festival each summer.

Bowling Green was first settled in 1832, was incorporated as a town in 1855, and became a city in 1901. Bowling Green is the county seat of Wood County, Ohio County in the US state of Ohio. It is part of the Toledo, Ohio Toledo Metropolitan Area Statistical Area.
