The decisive victory of General Wayne over the Indians in the region west of Wayne Township, in 1794, led to a treaty of peace. On April 13, 1802, at a meeting of the Erie Presbytery held at Mt. Pleasant (Darlington) the Slippery Rock congregation petitioned for supplies and that the Lord's Supper might be administered.
