The better more accurate reason for the name is that the valley is completly circled by mountains except where the Sevier River goes in and out of the valley on the north and south. Circleville is a town in Piute County, Utah County, Utah, United States. The town earned its name from local legends that identify it as the site of the first crop circle sightings in the Western United States during the 19th century.
