Paragonah was incorporated as a town in 1916. Paragonah is a town in Iron County, Utah County, Utah, United States. Parowan residents found meadows next to Red Creek that provided ideal locations for farming. The population was 470 at the United States Census, 2000 census.
Paragonah ( ) was settled by residents from the nearby town of Parowan, Utah in the early 1850s. There are conflicting sources as to the name's precise meaning, but it is of Paiute Indian origin and apparently is a reference to the water found in the area.
