One of Louisiana's largest city is Shreveport which is also the county seat of Caddo Parish. The city has served as the center of commerce and culture in the state. Shreve Town Company, a business corporation that known to develop towns founded the city of Shreveport in the year 1836. In honor of the Shreve's, the developed town was name after them and became a town in 1839. It was only in 1871 when it was incorporated as a city. Though the city lost its fame as a prime oil business hub due to the eighties recession, it was found a new niche in tourism with its impressive entertainment establishments.What makes the tourism in Shreveport lively is the number of riverboat casinos it has. Most popular of its casinos are Eldorado Resort Casino, Sam's Town Hotel and Casino, Diamond Jacks Casino Resort, Horseshoe Casino and Boomtown Casino and Hotel.
